Brief:

Construction of a new 1.8 million litre fresh water reservoir on the hill above South Bay in Kaikoura to replace the old defunct reservoir and bladder storage to bring the source up to drinking water standards.

Scope:

-Decommissioning of the existing bladder and concrete storage systems on the site.

-Earthworks involving bulk excavation of 1500m3 from the new reservoir site and subsequent filling of the old baldder site.

-Concrete works for structures’ foundation slabs.

-Construction of a 1.8 million litre steel reservoir structure.

-Various ductile iron and stainless steel mechanical piping .

-Installation of new water supply main.

-Testing and chlorination of the reservoir.

-Upgrading of the electrical switch room and all associated wiring and commissioning electrical works.

-Tie-in to existing water supply pipeline.

-Construction of upgraded access and landscaping.
