Brief:

Construction of a stormwater pump station in Otaki St, Kaiapoi, as part of the Kaiapoi Stormwater & Flooding Improvements Programme to mitigate the flood risk in the area. The station is designed to drain the catchment into the Kaiapoi River.

Scope:

- Temporary works consisting of a cofferdam 9m x 12m with 9m deep FSPIII sheet piles.
- Various driven dewatering wells to enable excavation to 5m below ground level.
- Earthworks involving bulk excavation of 540m3 and subsequent filling of 350m3.
- Concrete works for insitu wet well and valve chamber.
- DN500 DI mechanical piping.
- DN900 & DN1200 concrete interceptor gravity pipework.
- DN900 PE Pressure main
- DN250 PE Pressure sewer main diversion.

- Steelworks involving HDG grating, aluminium covers and handrails.
- Construction of electrical control room; consisting of insitu-concrete floor, precast walls and roof, installation of electrical switchboards and all associated wiring and commissioning electrical works.
